FORTUNOFF, The Source
With an extensive merchandise selection in 17,000 sq. ft.: jewelry, watches, hollowware plus 450 flatware patterns and 250 clocks, Fortunoff needed distinctive showcasing and a simple traffic plan that made the store easy to shop and efficient for staff to serve customers.
Working as a team, Keith Kovar and Ruth Mellergaard designed 500 linear ft. of showcases – like beautiful tanks – each merchandise group with its own cash register, a separate department with sloped walls for flatware and a custom-designed slat-wall system, finished in metallic light bronze for clocks. Using bronze, cherry wood, maple and granite, custom fluorescent light rails, fabric-embedded glass plus Armstrong lay-in tiles GRID/3 created a sophisticated and classic space that staff love to work in and customers love to shop.

“Getting it to work together was like doing a jigsaw puzzle,” Kovar and Mellergaard agreed. |
