MARLEY FINE JEWELRY
Jewelry designer Marley Simon wanted his new store to reflect his jewelry. GRID/3 International’s Keith Kovar utilized the curve as a recurring element to
reflect its originality.
A custom ellipsoidal-shaped showcase with a dropped ceiling overhead is a dramatic focus for his jewelry. Showcases are arranged according to category throughout the store, with bases of dark African wenge wood or textured aluminum. A featured wall of textured aluminum and custom-cast glass wall panels encasing the presentation room add to the luxurious feeling.
Because most of Marley's pieces are made on the premises, the back room had to be very spacious taking up one third of the store's space. Upfront, Kovar designed a workstation with a computer and embedded flat screens on an island column where clients watch a design’s progress.

“Marley’s design sense gave me the freedom to create a store which acts like an ad for his work,” says Kovar. |
